Paint Surprise is one of the most unusual tricks ever created. Based on an early idea from John Moyer, Devin Knight has taken the borrowed ring effect to a NEW level.
Performer asks to borrow a ring from an audience member. You state you will MARK the ring so it can be identified later on. You bring out a can of black spray paint and begin to shake it, stating you will mark the ring with some black paint. The audience howls with laughter at this point. As you shake the can, they hear the metal ball inside the paint can mixing the paint, it's a loud clanging noise. Suddenly, the noise changes to a softer tingle!
What? Something is wrong. You look over at the ring, but the ring is NO MORE. In your otherwise empty hand is the metal ball from inside the paint can. Could it be the person's ring is now inside the can? You shake it again and everyone can hear the ring inside the can. No longer is the clanking sound of a metal ball heard inside the can.
Magician says not to worry, there is a hole in the can and he can remove the ring that way. Removing the cap, you point to the hole in the nozzle and say you'll magically dissolve the ring and spray it out of nozzle. Yeah, right.
Picking up a blank index card, you spray a small black circle on the card. You now vigorously shake the paint can. Not a sound is heard inside -- nothing at all. This part alone is very baffling to any audience. You state that the black circle contains the ring material and will now return it to the spectator. Whoops, they need to sign for their ring. You hand them a pen and say sign your name on the card right under the circle.
You state that when the paint dries it will revert back to the ring. The signed card is then waved in the air to dry the paint. You then fold the card into quarters and show it COMPLETELY FLAT. Suddenly the card begins to swell as though something is inside. You ask the person to hold out their palm and the ring falls from the folded card.
Hand them the card to unfold. The black paint circle has vanished but their name is still signed on the card. They can keep the card to show to their friends.
Baffling beyond words and one of the strongest effects in Devin's show. Something they talk about long afterwards. Comes with special paint can, supply of index cards, metal paint balls and complete directions showing you everything you need to know. Easy to do with no difficult sleight of hand.
IMPORTANT FACTS:
BONUS EFFECT INCLUDED: This is from Devin's strolling work and he uses it in strolling gigs all the time. Show a quarter, have it examined. Take it back and it becomes soft and pliable. In fact you start to bend it back and forth showing how easily it bends. Finally you take the soften quarter and roll the quarter into a little metal ball which you drop into the person's hand. You use the metal paint ball that comes with this trick to do the above effect. Explained in full detail.
While in your hand show BOTH sides of the mirror show a silk to the audience and use it to clean the mirror. As you wipe the mirror the silk starts to penetrate the center of the glass. Halfway through, the mirror can be turned around and shown on both sides with the silk sticking out the opposite side!
Now face the mirror towards the audience once again and the silk is pulled through.

The Appearing Cane is in fact a high quality steel spring coil attached to a ferrule with a locking arrangement. When released it opens out into the shape of a cane, over three feet in length. The effect is visual, the magician reaches into the air and a solid cane over three feet long just pops into his hand. Alternatively, a silk is shown and as the performer waves it, it suddenly and visibly changes to a full size elegant cane. This model is the traditional one for the performer in traditional attire.
Our canes are well made of high quality steel and will last a lifetime if used with care. Use it as an opening item or anytime during your act.
The table measures 18 cm in diameter. The table stands 90 cm tall.

He can use it as a magnetic coin. This is a coin prop with a variety of functions.
You ask a spectator to pick a card (without any force!) and memorize it. He can sign on it if he wishes.
The chosen card is placed back to the middle of the deck by the spectator. Show the outside and inside of the case, and immediately put the deck in. Pinch the sides of the case with thumb and forefinger, and call the spectator's attention to the case. All the fingers are seen and nothing is concealed. While the spectator is paying attention to the case, suddenly a single card is seen to rise right up slowly out of the deck- it's the chosen card!
After this is done, the both sides of the case are shown and the deck is taken out of the case to spread. Still, no tricks!
You can repeat this trick again and again! Both hands are free and no long sleeves of the jacket are required.
This absolutely incredible effect is similar to the masterpiece, Rising Card. However, there is a distinctive difference between the two and this is totally advanced as follows:
Comes complete with deck, card case and 9 pages of photo-illustrated instructions.

That's right, you really can produce 9 - 24 inch Diamond silks at you fingertips! Pretty, elegant and mysterious.
A piece of flaming paper is dropped into an empty pan, which is covered for an instant to extinguish the flames. When the cover is removed, one or two live Doves appear.
The double load feature enables you to close the pan again for an instant, and produce a second production of a pan full of flowers, sweets, or anything you like. The Dove Pan is a prop not only for producing Doves or Chickens, but for some excellent children's routines, like Baking a Cake magically at a Birthday party.
The covers are moved around, and the rabbits are found to have exchanged places. This is repeated a number of times, and your audience believes they have caught you out. They inform you that the rabbits are White on one side and Black on the other, and you are merely turning them around to change places.
Finally you turn the two rabbits around, and show that they are not Black and White as the audience believes, but two entirely different colors Red and Green.
These are stage size about 11 inch high, with cut out wood rabbits.
Some magicians use the slots for stealing trick coins and the center slot for gaff cards to load into a deck after showing it clean.
Two rings are borrowed from audience members, ideally a wedding set. The rings are both locked onto a combination padlock. The audience members are allowed to try to open the lock but to no avail. The magician asks the couple the year in which they were married and has them dial the four digits into the combination.
When they pull on the shackle the lock opens and the rings are freed! Wedding Rings is a self-working marvel that has a romantic appeal to it, a guaranteed crowd-pleaser that will not only amaze but charm your audience.
Comes with a specially gimmicked combination padlock and complete instructions.
A board with four different colored balloons. The performer declares that he has pasted a prediction label on the rear side of the board. After each balloon is burst (freely named by the spectators), the only one that remains matches with the magicians prediction.
