KB Rising Cards

This is one of the easiest and most effective rising card tricks ever designed. The performer has one or more cards freely selected from a shuffled deck. The cards are shuffled back into the deck, which is placed in a metal houlette. The houlette is swung by two hooks on a magic wand, which the performer holds at the tips.

On command, the selected cards rise one at a time from the houlette. The KB Card Rise has many advantages over other rising cards. You can use any ordinary pack of cards, even a borrowed one if you wish. There are no forces, and any card or cards can be freely selected.

There are no threads, wires, or set-up. All the apparatus, cards, houlette and magic wand can be handed over for examination if you wish. We supply you a heavy gauge metal houlette, attractively enamelled painted in red, gold and black, the plastic magic wand, which you can use as a regular wand for your show and necessary gimmicks with full detailed instructions. Lemonstration by Max Maven

The magician demonstrates this by using six specially printed cards. One shows a picture of a lemon on its face. This is set aside, face down.

To make sure there is no confusion, the remaining cards are dealt face up and seen to spell the word "LEMON."

The performer rearranges the letters to spell "MELON." And when the picture card is turned over, it now shows a melon!

Life and Limb

For centuries, lives and body parts have been wagered and lost in a bizarre game called, Life and Limb!

The magician offers to play a game which has been theorized to be the source of the phrase "to risk one's life and limb." An envelope is placed on the table and five cards are dealt out, each of which have a body part drawn on them. The magician explains that if the spectator selects any card on the table that doesn't match the one in the envelope, they win and earn the magician's life. However, if they select the same card as the one in the envelope, the magician gets one of their limbs. Those are pretty good odds, four for them and one for you. You even make the game easier by letting the spectator see some of the cards! They freely choose one, ending on the card with a finger drawn on it. However, in the end they cheat fate and retain their finger!

The magician introduces his friend Lily, the ladybug. The children see a large, colorful flat figure, 14 inches high and 10 inches wide, which can be seen even on a large stage.

What do you think, how old is Lily? Immediately the children shout four, because they can see that Lily has four spots. This starts off a jolly game in which the spots change all the time.

First of all there are four spots on one side and two on the other. Then there are six and three. Suddenly one of them has disappeared and there are only five.

All the children are looking for the lost sixth spot. Finally the children pretend to throw this spot to Lily. What a surprise! Since so many children have thrown a spot, Lily now has at least 20 SPOTS! You might think that the trick is now finished, but no, the new spots that have just APPEARED & TURN SILVER!

Liquid From Newspaper Gimmick

The performer displays a folded newspaper, (or magazine), opens it out, and thumbs through the pages. A glass of water (or other liquid) is poured into the folds of the newspaper, and magically stays suspended in the paper.

The newspaper is turned right around, with no trace of the liquid. Finally, the liquid is poured back from the paper into the glass.

We supply you a special pre gummed plastic bag, which you can fit in a few minutes into any Newspaper or Magazine of your choice. When using a Newspaper use a tabloid size Newspaper, (approximately 14 inch wide x 21.5 inch long)

If using a magazine, any magazine more than 7 inch wide and 11 inch long can be used for the effect. The pre gummed bag enables you to customize any magazine or newspaper in 2 minutes. You can topicalise this, with today's news, or a club or society house magazine, just before your show.

The bags are not re-usable, in that you cannot transfer them from one magazine to another. You can get several - they are very cheap. Once fitted, you can use the same newspaper or magazine for several shows.

Lit Bulbs from Mouth

Credit for the concept of producing a string of lit electric bulbs from the mouth goes to Marvyn Roy. This is a miniature version of the Lit Bulbs from Mouth effect, using extra bright LEDs, (Light Emitting Diodes) and makes for a very effective visual magic routine.

In this version the performer displays several lit bulbs (LEDs) on a display stand. These are removed, and magically light in the performer's hand. They are all dropped into a tea cup, along with a piece of flexible wire, and everything is "swallowed", the cup being shown empty.

Finally the length of wire is pulled out from the mouth, with the lit bulbs threaded on it, a sure fire applause getter climax.

The apparatus supplied is complete with the stand, cup, all the bulbs and batteries - just a few handling trials and you can put this into your act.

Lit Candle to Flowers, Electronic

Performer displays a candle on a stand. He lights the candle, and picks up the candle with the stand.

He blows on it, apparently to blow out the flame, and the candle completely vanishes without any sort of cover, transforming into a spray of flowers.

"So where is the flame?" he exclaims, and the complete flower spray lights up, like a Christmas tree, in several colored lights.

The apparatus supplied is complete, and ready to work, with candle, stand, electronic flower spray, batteries, just read the instructions and you can put it in your act!

Lit Candle to Milk or Salt

A Candle on display is lit, for some part of another routine, or you can light it for this specific effect.

It is covered with a small cap to extinguish the flame. When the cap is removed, the flaming Candle tip has vanished, and the Candle has transformed into a clear cylinder of Milk, which you can pour out.

Or if you prefer, the Cylinder could be full of fine Salt or Sugar which pours out in an endless stream. Or it could even be a rolled up white silk!

Although not a very great mystery, this makes for a good quick visual effect with a surprise climax. You could also blend this into another more elaborate routine.

Supplied with all the required parts (You use your own milk or salt), with instructions at a very low price.

Lite Flite Floating Ball

The magician reaches into his pocket and produces a small illuminated ball. On the magician's command the ball starts to float in mid-air. As the ball is floating, the magician gives the ball a spin. Now the spinning ball suddenly floats from one hand to the other.

The magician's hands circle around the floating ball dispelling any and all thoughts of how it might be done. Finally, the floating ball rises up to the magician's pocket. The pocket is opened, and the ball then floats into his pocket.

An amazing effect. A must-buy for all magicians. One of the most miraculous floating effects ever created!

Locked Box Mystery

The apparatus we supply for this item comprises of a neat wooden Box, measuring approximately 4 inch long, 2.5 inch high and 2.75 inch wide. The box is made from quality wood, polished in a natural finish, with brass trimmings, and can be padlocked.

The magician can introduce an object into this locked box through a secret opening. The object can be introduced in an instant, and the locked box with lock given to a spectator. Once an item has been introduced, the locked box will take the most rigid examination, and there seems to be no way to get access to the contents of the box, except by opening the lock, and the top. There are many ways in which this item can be used. A borrowed watch, ring, or similar object can be made to vanish and reappear in the Locked Box.

Alternatively you can use this box as a prediction chest, with a prediction appearing in the sealed and locked box.
