Back Off! by Tom Lauten

This routine combines two classic card magic routines and makes them obtainable to the beginner by eliminating difficult sleight of hand. "Back Off" is a blend of the "All Backs Routine" and "Triumph." Although totally different in methodology from the originals, the effect of "Back Off" is still similar to that of the original routines.

A deck of cards is shown to be faulty due to there being backs printed on both sides of the cards! A spectator examines one of the cards from the unusable deck and verifies this to be true. However, with a magical gesture, the magician causes all the faces to become printed, making the deck as it should be. He then proceeds to take half the cards face up and half face down and shuffle them together. The deck is spread to show the messy condition of the cards.

With his back turned the magician invites a spectator to remove a card and sign it on the face. This card is then replaced facedown into any point in the deck, which is then squared up before the magician turns hack. A magical gesture is made and the cards are shown to have gone back to their original state of being all backs on both sides, all except for one card which remains with it's face showing. among the backs of the cards. Unbelievably, it is the signed sekection! THe only card not to beprinted with a back on both sides again! The spectator keeps the card as a souvenir of this strange experience with a deck of cards!

The trick can be easily repeated with a different card! Multiple handlings included as well as Tom Lauten's "Tidy Up" routine! This effect can be done in the hands or at the table! The deck is instantly reset!

Backstage Monte Jumbo Card Trick

A three card monte effect with a greater sucker climax.

Performer displays two spot cards with a Queen in the middle. Spectator is asked to find the Queen, but discovers it has changed into an entirely different card. Performer then teaches the trick to the audience, only to fool them all over again.

A great routine, using props that occupy no space at the bottom of your bag, and provide several minutes of solid entertainment.

A deck is casually shuffled, and shown to be in no particular order. Half the deck is turned face up and half is turned face down, the two halves are mixed together. Spread on the table it is a chaotic mess of face up, face down cards, suits and values. The deck is squared, then immediately re-spread, now all the cards are face up and the entire deck is in order, by value and suit!

Bending Card by Guy Bavli

You show a pack of cards to the audience, and ask one of them to select and sign any card. You hold the card between your fingertips, and the card begins to slowly bend! The card is under your complete control and you don't move your hand or your fingers! You then cause the card to straighten up and can hand it out to be examined by a spectator, who confirms it is the same card with their signature.

Bet on It Credit Card by James Ford

Ask a volunteer to pick a card from the deck, then return it and shuffle the deck. Standard procedure, so far!

Now this is where things get interesting! Pull your Credit Card out of the wallet, present its front and back to the crowd and lay it face down on the table. Whilst doing this, present the volunteer with the following dare; I'll make you an offer you can't refuse. I'll try to read your mind and find our which card you picked. If I get it right, you owe me a dollar, but if I miss, you get to go shopping with my credit card!

While in deep concentration, you go through the deck, extract the card you settled on, and place it on the table. Wrong Card! he'll declare victoriously. Once he does, ask him to announce the correct card. The eight of diamonds, he'll say. You ask him to turn the credit card over. Just imagine his face, when he'll realize that the figure in the credit card is actually holding the eight of diamonds.

Big Switch by Martin Lewis

You take a deck of cards and tell the audience that you have made a prediction that is in your inside coat pocket. You proceed to let a spectator choose a card, and then show you have predicted it by removing from your pocket a Jumbo Eight of Spades (for example).

The spectator protests that this is incorrect, so you ask for the name of the card chosen. "The Queen of Hearts" (for example) you are told. "In that case," you say, "I must perform what is called in the trade, a switch." You turn the card around and fixed to the back is a wall switch, you solemnly flip the switch. When you turn the card round again, it has changed to the correct card, the Queen of Hearts.

Bleeding Heart by Dave Haversat

A magician removes a deck of cards from his pocket, along with a single playing card. The single card is placed face-down on the table as the prediction. A spectator selects a card (the six of hearts from the deck). Unable to see what card was chosen, the magician reveals that the card was a BLACK card. It is obvious that the performer was wrong with his first prediction. Looking surprised and bewildered, the magician tells the spectator to return the card face-down on the deck, which is held by the performer. You see this deck is getting a little bit worn and does not cooperate sometimes. You were supposed to have selected a BLACK card! I think I have the solution to this problem.

The performer reaches into his pocket, and removes a large hypodermic needle. The needle is plunged into the top of the deck, which has the selected card on top. Slowly, the needle fills with RED INK. The performer explains once again, that the volunteer should have selected a BLACK card and this will get rid of the red ink! Now the top card is turned over. To the surprise of everyone, the hearts on the card are hollow, except for a very small portion! No no, I don't want the ink just to be removed, I want a totally different suite, the six of clubs or spades - a BLACK card!

The card is placed face-down on the deck once again, and the spectator is asked to wave their hand over the card. The top card is turned over, but the card is now a BLACK six of hearts! Looking astonished, the performer tells the spectator to turn over the prediction card that has been on the table throughout the performance. Amazingly, the prediction card is a BLACK SIX OF HEARTS!

Blink Duplication by Katsuya Masuda

A card is selected and signed by a spectator. The selection is replaced in the deck and shuffled. The magician introduces a blank face card and sticks it halfway into the middle of the deck. With the blank face card sticking out, he puts the deck face down into its case, whose flap is kept open. The magician shows the face of the blank card that is protruding from the deck. He now holds the card case keeping its back toward the audience. The magician pushes the protruding card a little. Then he turns the deck face up. To spectators’ surprise, the blank face card has changed into the chosen card with the spectator’s signature on it. The magician removes the card and hand it to him for thorough examination.
